After 3 years in New York, back in France, Lady MakeUp was shocked by the way how people can be "mental-judge", even negative towards others. As a make-up artist, she wants to use her know-how to create an artistic sense and show the pains of some words : Words for Worse.

RC. A project to raise consciousness

I have created this project so that the harassers become aware of the seriousness and indelible consequences of their actions, but also to support those who are harassed, to make them feel less lonely and to help them talk about it before they fall into depression or worse, to commit suicide.

Then I called on various volunteer photographers to present this project so that everyone can express and highlight this subject in different ways. My purpose is to make as many people as possible aware of the importance of words and their impact.

While I was carrying out this project, I received a lot of testimonies from people who were harassed and I realized that many of us are victims and sometimes traumatized for life.

Beyond words written on a body, Marine wishes to highlight the fact that some remarks and insults can stick to the skin...

RC. A delicate shooting for the victims

Several harassed people participated in this project by letting me paint on their naked bodies the insults they heard.

Some of them found it difficult and even cried during the shooting sessions. Others lived this experience as a liberating and hopeful act for the victims remaining in obscurity.

The project shows women of course, but also men. They are often accused but in fact, they are equally concerned with this pain and they are rarely represented. I naturally wanted to include them in my project so that we can stop believing that this only happens to women.

I would have liked to include young teenagers in this project, but as minors and the subject is very strong, I haven't had the opportunity yet. It's the same with disabled people, despite my emails to different associations, such as S.O.S Handicap (Disability) et STOP Harcèlement (Harassment).

RC. An awareness-raising campaign on this concept.

I had the opportunity to work with the agence Adamytes. With the support of "la Préfecture des Pays de la Loire" (Western region prefecture) - Adamytes agency contacted me to create the designs of their campaign to raise awareness against sexual, sexist, racist and homophobic violence, exhibited in 25 festivals and cultural places in Pays de la Loire. The agency designed the website http://icicestcool.org and the shots were made at the studio Oioo Nantes, by photographers Ronan Rocher and Lionel Boissaye.

RC. An upcoming exhibition.

I would like to display the photos of my project in different places such as media library, exhibition halls or cultural places. I would like to publish a book, with the testimonies and the photos of each person involved in the project. Together we can create, gather our ideas and know-how to make people aware of many things, using Art. That’s why I’m interested in any proposal for collaboration that I wouldn’t have mentioned in my main goals for this project.

RC. Do you have any plans in hand ?

I wish to get back as soon as possible to work on 2 suspended projects due to the current circumstances. The first one is a very colorful project where I'm fusing the body of the models on a background that I'm painting in order to show the adaptation of each surface to our environment. My second project is mainly about women and especially about violence. That's nothing new, but I would like to approach it in a different way and add my personal touch to it.
